During Milan Design Week, Gucci returns to prominence at Fuorisalone 2025 with Bamboo Encounters, an immersive installation set in the evocative Chiostri di San Simpliciano in Milan. A tribute to bamboo, the Maison’s iconic symbol, between innovation, craftsmanship and contemporary visions. Galleria Cavour 1959 is also celebrating this unmissable event, confirming the link with one of its most representative brands.
A celebration of design, matter and aesthetic vision that spans past and future: Gucci signs one of the most anticipated moments of Fuorisalone 2025 with the installation “Bamboo Encounters,” scheduled from April 8 to 13 in Milan. An event that Galleria Cavour 1959, which has always been a showcase of excellence for the brand in the heart of Bologna, proudly welcomes, once again celebrating the creative and pioneering spirit of the Maison.
Within the fascinating setting of the Chiostri di San Simpliciano in the Brera district, Gucci explores the narrative and sensory potential of bamboo, a symbolic material deeply rooted in the brand’s identity. Curating and designing the installation is 2050+, an architecture and research studio led by Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli. On stage, seven original installations signed by international designers, called to reinterpret bamboo with new and bold languages.

Bamboo, introduced in the 1940s by Gucci in response to the scarcity of raw materials, immediately became iconic thanks to the iconic Bamboo bag handle. Today, that innovative gesture becomes inspiration for a narrative that combines aesthetics, sustainability and craftsmanship, perfectly in tune with the spirit of Fuorisalone, a global crossroads of contemporary design.
“Bamboo Encounters” is much more than an exhibition: it is an immersive experience, where light, matter and movement dialogue with the Renaissance architecture of the cloisters, transforming the space into an evocative and multisensory journey. Visitors are invited to be guided through textures, geometries and tactile suggestions that transform design into a living, evolving experience.

Gucci, among the undisputed protagonists of international fashion and an indispensable presence at Galleria Cavour 1959, thus reaffirms its commitment to tracing cultural and creative paths that go beyond the boundaries of fashion, touching on art, architecture and the environment. The project in the Cloisters of San Simpliciano becomes a symbol of this vision, where beauty meets responsibility and tradition dialogues with innovation.
An unmissable stop for those who love design and fashion, but also for those who wish to discover new forms of expression through a language that speaks of elegance, research and identity.
