On May 6, 2024, the legendary Met Gala was celebrated at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, with the theme “The Garden of Time,” co-chaired by celebrities such as Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, and Zendaya, as well as Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
The theme of this year’s Met Gala, “The Garden of Time,” was celebrated along with “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” the MET’s exhibition scheduled to run from May 10 to Sept. 2, 2024.
The exhibition celebrates gowns so delicate that they cannot be worn again, described as “sleeping beauties” in the archives of the Costume Institute.
These include historic pieces such as a 17th-century Elizabethan corset to modern creations, divided into three sub-themes: Earth, Sea, and Sky.
At this year’s Met Gala, guests wore pieces that reflect the transience of time and the fragility of fashion, paying homage to the history and art of fashion design.
