The Stars of the Oscars Conquered by Made in Italy Fashion

ARMANIGUCCI / MARCH 2024

Oscar

The Hollywood Oscars are more than just a movie awards ceremony; they represent a global fashion show that celebrates not only film talent, but also elegance and style.

The Italian fashion influence at the Oscars is palpable in every corner of the red carpet. From dreamy gowns to exclusive handbags, from luxury accessories to shoes, Italy has won the hearts of Hollywood’s most renowned actors and actresses.

An emblematic example of this excellence in craftsmanship is Giorgio Armani‘s classic tuxedo, worn by numerous male stars on the red carpet at the Oscars. Actors such as George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio have worn Armani signature suits during the Oscar ceremonies, embodying the timeless elegance of Italian fashion.

Gucci has dressed numerous Hollywood stars.
Jessica Chastain, at the 2022 Oscars, chose a stunning Gucci gown customized with sequin degrade.
At the 2020 Oscars, Salma Hayek wore a beautiful white one-shoulder gown by Gucci. From one of her wide sleeves descended a sort of bridal train that marked the elegance of her outfit, followed by an A-line skirt with a slit that slashed her figure.

Made in Italy bringing good luck

According to research by London-based textile company Dalston Mill Fabrics, it seems that there are lucky dresses, which, when worn, attract good fortune. By examining the dresses worn by Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress award winners since the first edition in 1929, an interesting trend emerges: specific colors (black is the luckiest color) and designers (Armani and Valentino top the list) seem to be associated with good luck for the wearer on Oscar night.
