Rebirth-Day, conceived by artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, is an annual celebration that promotes the concept of a “Third Paradise.”

The fanciful connotation of “the end of the world” ascribed to Dec. 21, 2012, has unfortunately lent itself to take on symbolic meaning in the gravity of the situation humanity finds itself in at this point in its history. With the symbol of the Third Paradise, December 21 is identified as Rebirth-day.

Rebirth-day is the holiday that celebrates this date when each of us makes a commitment to collaborate in a responsible transformation of society in the world.

Third Paradise means that at the end of the second paradise, the artificial paradise that we experience today, following the natural paradise, we must create the third stage of the human journey, generating a balanced relationship between nature and artifice.

At the center of this year’s event was Pistoletto’s iconic artwork, Third Paradise on display these days in Galleria Cavour 1959.
Surrounding it was an amazing hip hop music ballet, spectacularly uniting contemporary art with urban culture. The dancers masterfully interpreted the theme of rebirth, creating a bridge between different artistic expressions and generations.
