Tod’s supports the exhibition “Ri-scatti. Chiamami col mio nome” at the PAC in Milan
TOD’S / OCTOBER 2023
The photo exhibition, from Oct. 7 to Nov. 5, focuses on the lives of transgender people.
Organized by PAC and Re-shoots ODV, with support from the City of Milan and Tod’s, the exhibition aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by transgender people during their journey of transition and acceptance.
Through more than three hundred photographs created in collaboration with the Association for Transgender Culture and Ethics (ACET) and the ALA Milan Association, the exhibition offers a window into the lives of sixteen transgender and non-binary individuals who courageously share their stories to combat transphobia.
The exhibition, curated by PAC curator Diego Sileo, aims to tell true stories, sometimes bitter, sometimes joyful, but absolutely the result of free expression. More than three hundred photographs highlight the identities̀ of trans people and their painful journey of transition, turning the spotlight on the difficulties in recognizing themselves before even being recognized and accepted by their family, friends, institutions and society. Even today, Italy ranks first in Europe in terms of the number of transphobic incidents: there are many acts of violence and abuse, due to social and cultural reasons, that trans people experience during their existence.
